With the new school year come new faces. In addition to getting to know our new students, we should also prioritize getting to know our new faculty members. I met with Ms. Dale and Ms. Caputi this week to ask them a few questions about their past experiences before coming to Westminster and their current experiences here.
Ms. Dale is a Fifth and Sixth form English teacher and a varsity swim and diving coach. While in high school, she was a three-time All-American. We are lucky to have her. Here are some fun facts you might not know about Ms. Dale: One of her favorite things to do in her free time is watching horror movies. Her favorite is “Suspiria.” When I asked her about her favorite Westminster experience so far, she told me that she has particularly enjoyed being “in the classroom with the students and getting to read their work.” Ms. Dale has thoroughly enjoyed getting to know her students and she appreciates “some amazingly talented students” that she has in her classes. When I asked about her biggest inspiration, she shared her admiration for her dad, who coached her and taught her about care and values.
I also had the opportunity to meet with Ms. Caputi and learn more about her. Ms. Caputi is a college counselor and a history teacher. She shared with me her favorite memories of swimming in the ocean in Maine and her value of family. Her favorite Westminster experience so far has been the Hill Holiday announcement. “It was great to see that energy on campus and the shared community excitement,” she said. She also spoke about how her three siblings are her greatest inspirations: “they are my best friends as they give me a different perspective and outlook on life that I value.”
There is so much to learn about our new faculty members on campus. I highly encourage you to get to know them!
