By Alice Tao ’24The sun’s warmth caressing my face, The scent of hay and grass, a sweet embrace. A dance of trust and unspoken emotion,
As we navigate through the gust of wind. My frail body light as a sack, Carefully placed on your mountainous back. We gallop through fields and forests tall, Our journey together, a wondrous feat indeed. Your hooves, a thundering symphony Echoing through the hills, a wild cacophony. My tiny fingers comb through your tangled hair, Who could’ve known but Heaven? Oh! That laughing eye, That blazing stare, Dancing in my fondest memories. I wrapped my arms around your neck, And felt the warmth of your breath on my cheek. You nuzzled me gently with your nose, As I reveled in our shared existence. The sun, a golden goddess in the sky, Gave us her gaze with a gleaming eye. Oh, my dear companion, my confidant. A true treasure, a trusty talisman!
